Established in 1951 as a repairing business for gas equipment, The Welding Equipment Service Co. Ltd quickly became a manufacturer in its own right under the WESCOL brand name. As the business grew, the name was changed to Wescol Ltd., to reflect the popularity of the brand that by which time was recognised all over the world.

With the demise in repairing of gas equipment and the gradual loss of expertise in the field generally, Wescol recognised that it’s equipment would become a consumable item and that as long it kept its technical expertise, there would continue be a need for a quality manufacturer that could mass produce and still adapt its product to different international markets and uses, be they industrial, scientific or medical.
